Institution of Engineers (India) - IE(I) Jyothi Engineering College Student Chapter (Computer Science and Engineering)

The objective of the student chapter is to nurture the capability of budding engineers in career enhancement, and helping them to integrate their acquired skills into the IT community. The mission of the IE (I) CS chapter is to develop highly competent professionals in the field of Computer science along with developing a sense of partnership amongst members. Mission

The mission of IE(I) Jyothi Engineering College Student Chapter (Computer Science and Engineering) is to cultivate the skills of budding engineers for career advancement and integration into the IT sector. We aim to develop highly competent professionals in computer science while fostering a collaborative spirit among members. Our goal is to promote excellence in education, research, and industry engagement to meet the challenges of a digital era effectively.

Vision

The vision of IE(I) Jyothi Engineering College Student Chapter (Computer Science and Engineering) is to become a leading hub for nurturing future-ready engineers in computer science. We envision a community where members excel through innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills, we aim to inspire technological advancements and contribute meaningfully to the IT industry and society at large.

One Day Workshop on “Zero Trust Architecture : Cloud Security”

Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Institute of Engineers(India) CSE Student chapter organized a one day workshop on “Zero Trust Architecture” on 10th January 2025, conducted by Mr. Jyothish K, Technical Lead from Zscaler Inc. The main objective of the session was to familiarize us with basic cyber security concepts and to make us understand about the enormous opportunities in the field of cyber security . security analysis. Overall, the workshop was a great learning experience. It gave us a solid foundation in using Wireshark and Nmap for cyber security purposes. The session was well-structured, and the hands-on activities helped us gain practical knowledge of network security tools.

Illuminate Workshop

The Illuminate Workshop, organized by E-Cell Jyothi Engineering College in collaboration with E-Cell IIT Bombay and IEDC, proudly sponsored by CSI, IEI and ISTE of Jyothi Engineering College, was held on 18th December 2024 to foster entrepreneurial skills and ignite a passion for innovation among students. The event was made possible through sponsorship support from CSI, IEI, ISTE, and IEDC which enabled us to enhance the overall participant experience.The workshop featured engaging sessions led by experienced entrepreneurs and startup experts who provided valuable insights into business modelling, startup ideation, and problem-solving strategies. ILLUMINATE Participants enjoyed a full-day interactive program, which included hands-on activities such as business model canvas exercises, case studies, and networking opportunities with the speaker and mentors. Each attendee received a startup kit, lunch, and a certificate of participation from E-Cell IIT Bombay, enhancing the workshop experience.

Hackathena 2024

Computer Engineering Students Association (CESA), CSE Department & IEI CSE organised ‘HackAthena 2024’, a 3-day national level hackathon, that commenced at 10:00 am on 6th April 2024. The hackathon lasted for a duration of 48 hours and witnessed the participation of 17 teams with a team size of 2 to 4 members. The event was provided with 3 themes-Road Safety, Health Tech and Open Hack.

TinkHerHack 2.0 HACKATHON

TinkerHerHack 2.0, a women-only hackathon, was conducted by TinkerHub-Jec and the TinkerHub Foundation on March 2nd and March 3rd, 2024, in the college auditorium. The event was sponsored by clubs such as IEDC, IIC, IEI, CSI, and AIDA of our college. The primary aim of the event was to encourage the involvement of women techies in the field and provide them with an experience in hackathons.

The session started with an opening remark by the Head of the Department Dr. Saju P John. He extended warm welcome to all the staff, participants, the Resource Persons Mr. Deo Saju & Mr. Sidarth P, S8 CSE students to the event. A total of 43 students from 2nd and 3rd year CSE attended the meeting. During his lecture Mr. Siddharth explained about different areas of Cyber Security. He also talked about Capture the Flag (CTF) contest that is happening in Cyber Security, which is a good platform for Cyber Security enthusiasts.
