Institution of Engineers (India) - IE(I) Jyothi Engineering College Student Chapter (Electrical & Electronics Engineering)

The aim and objective, for which the IEI constituted, are to promote the general advancement of Electrical Engineering and their applications and to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas on those subjects, amongst the members and the persons attached to the Institution. Mission

The mission of IE(I) Jyothi Engineering College Student Chapter (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) is to advance the field through knowledge exchange and practical applications. We aim to foster a community where members excel in understanding and implementing electrical engineering principles. By promoting innovation and collaboration, we prepare future engineers to contribute effectively to industry and society, ensuring sustainable development and technological progress.

Vision

The vision of IE(I) Jyothi Engineering College Student Chapter (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) is to lead the forefront of electrical engineering innovation and application. We aspire to cultivate a community of forward-thinking engineers who drive technological advancements and sustainable solutions. By fostering creativity, collaboration, and excellence in education, we aim to shape the future of electrical and electronics engineering, addressing global challenges and improving quality of life.

One Day Industrial Visit

Venue : Malanad Cooperative Tea Factory, Vagamon, Idukki (D), Kerala

The industrial visit to the Malanad Cooperative Tea Factory in Vagamon on 01-03- 2025, at 2:00 PM was organized by EEE department in association with the IEI Students Chapter of the EEE Department and the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Jyothi Engineering College. A total of 41 members (39 Students and 2 Faculty) took part in this visit. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial processes and operations, especially focusing on the electrical systems involved in tea production.

Guest Lecture on “IEI STUDENT CHAPTER - Scope & its Opportunities”

The IEI Students Chapter, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department of Jyothi Engineering College, Thrissur organized a guest lecture on "IEI Student Chapter - Scope & Its Opportunities" on Monday, 09th September 2024. The lecture aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Student Chapter and the various opportunities it presents for their academic and professional growth. The lecture detailed the various activities and initiatives available through the IEI Student Chapter, including seminars, workshops, conferences, and industrial visits, specifically tailored to enhance the knowledge and skills of Engineering students. The speaker discussed the long- term career benefits of being actively involved in the IEI Student Chapter, including enhanced employability, leadership development, and staying updated with the latest technological advancements in the field of Engineering. All S3 & S5 students of Electrical and Electronics Department had participated in this lecture.

Inauguration of IEI Students Chapter

The Institution of Engineers (India) Student's Chapter of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Jyothi Engineering College, Thrissur, Kerala was inaugurated on Monday 09th September 2024, in the presence of all the student members and Staff under the announcement of honourable Chief Guest. The Chapter Code is 679531/JEC/EE. A total of 50 students of second and third-year, Electrical and Electronics Engineering were enrolled as members of this Chapter. Chief Guest Mr. Thomas John V., Chairman-IEI Local Centre, Thrissur declared the opening of Students Chapter. Dr. Jenson Jose / HoD EEE delivered the welcome address for the event. The Presidential Address was given by Rev. Fr. Dr. Jose Kannampuzha, Academic Director, who presided over the event. In the speech, he spoke about the vision and mission of the IEI Students Chapter and how it aligns with the broader goals of the institution. Moreover, encouraged the students to actively participate in the chapter's activities and make the most of the opportunities it would offer. This event was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The dignitaries on the dais participated in this auspicious ceremony. As part of the inauguration, the certificate was hand over by the Chairman to the Head of the Department Dr. Jenson Jose and IEI Student Chapter Faculty Adviser Mr. Navin Sam D. As a token of appreciation and gratitude, the Chief Guest was honoured with a memento by Dr. Jose P. Therattil, Principal. The highlight of the event was the Inauguration Speech by the Chief Guest, Mr. Thomas John V, Chairman of IEI local centre Thrissur. Mr. Benjo Benny, S3 EEE, Convenor- IEI Student Chapter, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and staff who played a crucial role in the successful organization of the inauguration. Finally with the National Anthem the event concluded by 4.00 PM.

POWER QUIZ 2024

IEI Students Chapter, EEE Department of Jyothi Engineering College in association with KSEB Officers Association has conducted a Quiz event “Power Quiz 2024”, on 26th September 2024. All the students of EEE Department actively participated in the competition. Jifin K R of S3 EEE got First Prize and Salin P S of S3 EEE received the Second Prize. Mr. Rajendran ER from KSEB distributed the prizes to the winners.

Royal Charter Day Celebration- 2024

IEI Students Chapter, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Jyothi Engineering College has decided to celebrate the Royal Charter Day on 9 th September 2024. All the members of the Thrissur local centre were invited for celebration. The Chairman of Thrissur Local Centre Mr. Thomas John V. highlighted the history and the significance of Royal Charter Day. All the faculties and the students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department participated in the event.

Three Day Workshop “ Personal Development through Heartfulness”

The IEI Students Chapter of the EEE Department at Jyothi Engineering College, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, successfully conducted a three-day workshop titled “Personal Development through Heartfulness” from 11th to 13th February 2025. This workshop was designed to help students cultivate inner balance, emotional resilience, and self-awareness through heartfulness practices. The sessions were led by Mr. Ravikumar, a certified Heartfulness Trainer from the Hyderabad Headquarters, who guided participants through various techniques of meditation, relaxation, and mindfulness. He emphasized the importance of self-discipline, stress management, and inner harmony in personal and professional life. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed students to engage in practical exercises, discussions, and guided meditation sessions, enabling them to experience the benefits of heartfulness firsthand. All members of the IEI Student Chapter, EEE Department actively participated in the event, making it a highly enriching and transformative experience. The workshop provided students with valuable tools to enhance their mental well-being, focus, and overall personal growth, fostering a positive and mindful approach to daily life.

All the members of IEI Student Chapter, EEE Department attended the seminar. Mr. Mayank Arora, CEO & Founder, Capabl (from Elite Techno Groups) was the resource person for this event. IEI members got motivated innovate and to design their own prototype after attending this seminar.
